MOTIVATION

Creating images, videos and sculptures and building on an idea from the initial concept, seeing it evolve and take shape through to end result. I gain a great sense of pride and achievement to think people are entertained by and enjoy my creative work.

Looking to get "a foot in the door" with a creative company to gain vital industry experience, ideally in design, animation, post-production or theatre.

SKILLS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), Flash, Maya, 3DS Max and Paint Shop Pro, as well as much of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere and Encore).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress.
• Experienced with Windows (9x onwards) and MacOS X platforms.

I continue to develop my skills, read industry sites, and liaise with associates & friends with similar interests. In addition I enjoy browsing websites and on-line communities, promoting elements of my work on sites such as Vimeo and DeviantArt, as well as maintaining my own website.

EMPLOYMENT

Three very different jobs in recruitment, banking and catering which have given me the opportunity to broaden my range of administrative, project management and people skills. I have handled some challenging situations and can stay calm under pressure.
I have also done voluntary work, sold a design to an online clothing company, and gained work experience at Saatchi & Saatchi.

STAGE AND THEATRE EXPERIENCE

Over 2 years as a member of the Bradford University Society of Operettas and Musicals (BUSOM), and the Bradford University Theatre Group (BUTG). Had great fun working with people from all backgrounds, and found them ideal forums to learn new skills and gain confidence.

Marketing & Promotion:

Marketing and promoting BUSOM & BUTG productions through direct, digital and on-line media including - Facebook, posters, flyers, the societies and student websites and local radio.
Also designed and produced a poster for one theatre production.

Setting up and manning a stand at the annual Sports and Societies Fair to promote the Societies.
Manned stands for the Societies Carnival (BUSOM only).

Creative Involvement:

Assisted the technical crew in:-

• building stage sets including scenery, platforms, balconies and gantries
• setting up and testing lighting in rigging
• the ‘get-out’, and
• responsible for continuity of props.

Performances:

BUSOM: One lead role (Main show 2008), one tertiary role (Main show 2007), various solos in concerts, chorus member in Scratch show. BUTG: One dramatic production, two radio comedy shows. Some filmed, lord help me.

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

• Interests include Music, Films, Socialising, Video Games, Television, Technology, Drawing & Design, Musicals, Animation, Theatre, and Papercraft.
• 'Ackbarpography' design added to the SplitReason.com clothing line (July 2009).
• Nominated by Head of Year for the Computer Arts Magazine Graduate Showcase 2006.
• Featured in the University of Bradford EIMC Graduate Showcase 2006 (9th June).
• Featured on the EIMC Student Projects Showreel 2006.
• Featured in the Telegraph and Argus Online Video News, as part of Bradford Animation Festival 2006.

It would suit me to gain work experience in all creative areas.
